Dog care with Special Circumstances

Dog Daycare and Boarding Information

  • At K9 Haven, we provide a structured day filled with play, snacks, rest, and enrichment activities. Here's a breakdown of a typical day:

    - Upon arrival, dogs eligible for group play will either join a small pack of friends for structured play and games or decompress in their room first, depending on drop-off time. Dogs not eligible for group play will head to their room to unwind and receive an enrichment activity or one-on-one time with a staff member to meet their individual needs.

    - Midday, pups will have lunch if requested, enjoy a treat or enrichment activity, and rest. After resting, round two of play and other enrichment activities will begin.

    - Before dinner, all boarding dogs will be escorted back to their rooms to rest. They will then be fed and provided with a calming enrichment activity. The last let-out will be between 9 and 10 PM, with additional potty breaks, as needed, throughout the night.

    - Boarding dogs will have a morning let-out and romp between 5:30 and 6:30 AM before being brought back to their rooms for breakfast and rest. Our structured day of play will begin an hour or so after breakfast.

  • We require dogs to have the following vaccinations: DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus), Rabies. Bordetella, and Leptospirosis must be annual. All vaccinations must be current, and we must have copies on file. Titers will be accepted for all vaccines. We recommend that vaccinations be given at least two weeks before your dog's visit to ensure they are in good health.

  • No, it is not a requirement for dogs to be neutered or spayed. However, dogs that are not neutered or spayed may not be eligible for group play and must be book in an appropriate room. Please call to reserve a room available for intact male accommodations. Dogs that are not eligible for group play will be provided with personalized care and attention from our staff members to ensure they still have a fulfilling and enjoyable stay. Female dogs in heat or coming into heat will need to book alternate care during their 2-3 week cycle and for 1 week after.

  • For daycare, we provide plenty of toys, enrichment activities, beds, blankets, bowls, love, and snuggles. All we need from you is enough of your dog's food or medication for every meal during their stay.

  • Similar to daycare, we provide toys, enrichment activities, beds, blankets, bowls, and lots of love and snuggles for our boarding dogs. You'll need to bring enough of your dog's food and medication for every meal, plus an extra day or two. If your dog requires specific items, please let us know, but be aware that personal items may not be returned in the same condition.

  • There is always a staff member on-site at K9 Haven. During rest times and feedings, dogs will be in their rooms alone or with their family groups.

  • Our daycare and boarding programs include various enrichment activities tailored to the individual needs of each dog. These activities promote good manners, basic training, confidence, patience, and self-soothing calming behavior.

  • If your dog is sick, please let us know in advance. We may be able to make accommodations based on the severity and type of illness. However, to ensure the well-being of all our guests, dogs that are contagious need to be in good health and no longer contagious to partake in K9 Haven services.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate human aggressive dogs at this time. We recommend talking to your personal veterinarian about boarding options at their facility.

  • Please call ahead to discuss your dogs’ needs. We truly want to make sure your dog gets the loving and correct care they need and deserve.  Depending on the care needed we may add a Beyond Care fee to help cover the cost associated with the extra attentive, loving, watchful care needed. We do recommend senior dogs have a level of comfort at our resort through daycare before booking a boarding stay. This familiarly can help older dogs settle in and feel more at home rather than stressed in a new environment. We do also require a little extra information and release forms for this delicate population of pups. Please call with questions or concerns and to book your dogs stay.
